After six and a half years, Craig, has stood down from the role to take on his adventure as Chair of the Trustee Board for the UK Scout Association. During his term, he has skilfully led the County through a significant period of change, building a safe, strong organisation that is seeing excellent growth.
He has also overseen the transformation of our Volunteer Experience locally, helped implement the Skills for Life Strategy, and guided the County through the challenges of the pandemic. With the support of a strong team he has developed an interim strategy to take the area through to 2027. Through his hard work, Craig has delivered countless life-changing opportunities and adventures to over nine thousand young people across Lancashire.
We’re now looking for an enthusiastic and talented person who can lead Scouts in West Lancashire. You’ll be joining a team of focused volunteers, passionate about bringing brilliant Scouts experiences to every young person who wants to take part.
In this key leadership role, you’ll provide management and support for volunteers across eight Districts, spearhead our inclusive growth plans, and help to shape our next strategy. You can find out more about the role on our webpage.
We want to create the best possible team to lead Scouts in West Lancashire, and believe that we’ll do that by inviting and involving volunteers from different walks of life with different experiences, different skills and perspectives.
This is your opportunity to apply for the role, or nominate someone you think has the skills and qualities to lead the County forward. Nominating someone could give them the confidence they need to try it out.
For more information about the role, visit the Scouts UK website by clicking here, where you can either apply for role yourself or submit a nomination. If you’d like an informal chat, please contact Heather Lomas (Regional Lead Volunteer – North West England) via email on heather.lomas@scouts.org.uk.
