Snow and Ice 2026
We’re heading back to the Cairngorms in February 2026 for Snow and Ice. This is a Winter Mountaineering Experience for Explorers, Network and Leaders.
From 13-18 Feb 2026 you’ll have the opportunity to take part in Winter Mountaineering whether that be expeditions, Winter Climbing, Winter Hill Ascents, Snowholes, Skiing and much more.
Cost is £330 which includes all your accommodation, transport to and from Scotland and on the event, fully catered, equipment and instruction from qualified winter instructors. No winter experience is needed and we can lend winter kit for no extra fee.
You do need to be 15 years old upwards and have had some experience of walking – whilst you don’t need winter experience, this isn’t a trip for complete novices who haven’t been walking in the mountains before. You need to have the stamina to walk into the hills each day. Some experience of walking in the Lakes/North Wales is useful. If unsure – get in touch – snowandice@westlancsscouts.org.uk
