The Adventure Trust

Adventurous Activity Training Grants

In West Lancs we are passionate about adventurous activities and want to enable everyone to develop their skills. This grant fund exists to support the delivery of adventurous activities across West Lancashire Scouts.

We realise that there is a cost to developing your skills and encourage you to consider a range of ways to secure funding. We suggest asking your group and district, as well as applying for grant funding from the headquarters training and permits fund or other grants from UK Scouts.

The West Lancs Adventure Trust offers grants of up to 50% of the cost of training for an NGB qualification or £150, whichever is the lower. The training/ project should be one that contributes to the development of adventure amongst young people within the Scout County and the promotion of Scouting.  Any grants given are not designed to support ongoing or regular activities which are part of a typical Scouting programme.
Each application for support will be judged on its merits. Funding is typically limited to one grant per person within any two year period.
Any offer of a grant is conditional upon the recipient continuing to be a member of West Lancashire Scouts for two years, and if the leader ceases to be a member within 2 years of the grant, then it will be repayable in full.

All applications should be made on this application form.
