New Lead Volunteer Announced For Fylde District Scouts

Following an open search process, I am delighted to inform you that Ross Kelly
has accepted my offer to become the next Lead Volunteer/District Commissioner
for Fylde District Scouts.

Ross will be well-known to many of you as the Explorer Scout Leader at Trogz
ESU. Ross has undertaken a range of roles and tasks in Scouting and is passionate
about leading the District through an exciting period. Professionally, Ross works in
pharmaceutical mathematics and brings excellent organisation, communication
and people skills to the role. Ross is well-placed to build on the many strengths in
Fylde and develop the District further.

Ross will succeed Cath Lee as District Commissioner at the District AGM on the
20th September.

Cath Lee has been an outstanding District Commissioner for the last 7 years,
initially in Chorley and then in Fylde. Cath has led the District with passion, skill
and with dedication. This has including supporting the District through the
pandemic and through a period of recovery. I am hugely grateful for Cath’s
leadership of Fylde and want to place on record, on behalf of the County, my
enormous thanks for all that she has done. Thanks Cath!

Finally, I want to thank the search group, led by Mike Smith, for their diligence and
professionalism throughout this process. Fylde District has firm foundations, and
an abundance of talented volunteers. An exciting period lies ahead, and I know
with your support, the District will continue to thrive under Ross’ leadership
