Last Sunday (11th October) our newest Scout Group officially launched at Waddecar Scout Activity Centre. Aptly named Waddecar Scout Group, it's aim is break the barrier that some people across the County face joining Scouting when they can't make a weekday evening meeting. Meeting on a Sunday at Waddecar allows these young people to experience Scouting in West Lancs and what is has to offer!

It was amazing to see young people of all ages coming together, from different backgrounds to enjoy the outdoors and adventure with new friends. We’re operating differently to the traditional Scout Group model which means we’ve attracted young people who have never been in Scouts before and we are looking forward to welcoming even more…

We’re delighted to see this new monthly Scout group open this week, creating another opportunity for young people to find a place where they feel welcome, included and valued. Scouting is about so much more than learning new skills; it’s about building confidence, making friends, discovering new interests and being part of a team. By offering a different way for young people to get involved, we hope to open the door to new experiences, help them develop at their own pace and, most importantly, give them a place where they can truly belong.
