New County Ambassador – Dave Ryding World Cup Gold Medal Winner!

9th Jan 2022

As a County, last year, we established an objective of appointing a team of ambassadors.

We've set out to find people who'll act as a point of inspiration for our members (youth and adult), with a connection to the region and ideally with good media profile which will assist us in raising our own profile. We'll use our ambassadors to support our events and programme activities throughout the year.

As you will be seeing this week we will proudly be appointing Dave Ryding as our first West Lancs ambassador. Dave is a successful Olympic and World Cup ski racer and some further details his background and considerable achievements can be found here. He's from Chorley originally and is very passionate about getting young people active and already does a lot of work in this area. He was delighted to accept our appointment and we're very excited to have him on board with the unique perspective that he will bring.

If anyone wants to request the support of Dave, or any future ambassadors then please email the address below and you will be asked for further information. Please note all County requests should have the CC approval and all District requests the DC approval, a minimum lead time is ideally 3 months. We would also add that Dave is in full season now and so will not be available for any face to face events until after March 2022.
