As part of the UK Scout Association, we are part of a worldwide movement – there are Scout Associations in 216 countries and territories, and we are all member of the World Organisation of Scout Movements (WOSM).

Financial Support
For advice on financial support available to adults and young people, please contact Chris Lomas, Deputy Lead Volunteer, confidentially via email. Support is available from West Lancs Scouts and other places to support the cost of trips if finances are a barrier to you.
If you have already been appointed as a leader you can apply to the adult leader hardship fund here.
If you have already been selected as a young person on a trip you can apply to the young person hardship fund here.

Picos de Europa, Spain, Mountaineering Trip - 2027
In 2027, we are looking to take a group of Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members on a mountain trek/mountaineering trip to the Picos mountains.

Go Iceland (Scouts) 2027
Ready for an unforgettable Icelandic adventure?
In October 2027, 35 Scouts and 4 Young Leaders will be heading north for an incredible week exploring the land of fire and ice!
Flying from Manchester to Reykjavík, Scouts Go Iceland 2027 will give young people the chance to discover Iceland’s spectacular landscapes, experience some amazing activities, explore its capital city and meet fellow Scouts from another country.
From whales and waterfalls to volcanoes, geothermal pools and black sand beaches, this promises to be a trip of a lifetime!

Ski Alpine 2028
In the 2028 Easter holidays we will be taking a group of Scouts, Explorers and Network members on a fun filled adventure to the French Alps for a weeks skiing. You don’t have to have skied before as the trip is open to absolute beginners who have never stepped on skis, as well as those budding downhillers. There will be lessons from ESF (Ecole du Ski Français) qualified French instructors who speak English.

Beavers 2028
In 2028, we are looking to take a group of Beaver Scouts from West Lancashire on a trip of a lifetime! We would like the Beavers to have an international adventure to introduce them to the world of international scouting. The length and timing of the trip would be decided by the leadership team, but is most likely to be a long weekend in May or the school Summer holidays of 2028.
We are currently looking to recruit the trip leader for this trip, as well as a team of assistants.

Older Scouts and Explorers multi-activity trip 2028
In 2028, we are looking to take a group of Explorer Scouts from West Lancashire on a trip of a lifetime! We would like the Explorers to take part in a 9 day fun filled trip overseas where participants get to experience climbing, canoeing, caving and mountain biking. It really will be an action packed, fun filled trip that is open to all Explorers and Older Scouts (13+) in West Lancs.

Go Somewhere (Scouts) 2028
In 2028, we are looking to take a group of 35 amazing Scouts and 5 Dynamic Young Leaders from West Lancashire on a weeklong trip of a lifetime in October half term 2027.

Yachting 2029
West Lancs Scouts is looking to undertake the 4th consecutive Yachting trip to Europe in 2029. For Explorer Scouts and Scout Network, this trip will most likely involve 6-8 yachts, each with 6 young people and 2-3 adults, exploring the European coastline.
We are currently looking to recruit the lead volunteer for this trip and a number of skippers and assistants.
