Assistant Leader Vacancy

We are looking to recruit one final Assistant Leader to take members of the Explorer section to the Swiss National Jamboree in 2022. We are looking someone to join our diverse and dynamic team who’ll be committed make this an unforgettable experience for the young people attending.

 

When and where exactly is the Jamboree? 

The Jamboree is being held in the Obergoms valley right in the heart of Switzerland. The trip will take place from 22nd of July until the 08th August. It will consist of the Jamboree from the 23rd July to the 06th August and two days spent exploring France after the Jamboree.

What are we looking for from our final Assistant Leader?

  • A team player.
  • Someone who is organised.
  • A problem solver.
  • Somebody capable of delivering high quality training events to prepare the young people for this experience.
  • Someone one who understand and is willing to support the vision of this trip.

What is the vision for this trip?

“We will deliver a UK exclusive experience shaped by young people that will challenge, develop and give our contingent the skills to influence UK Scouting in the future through culture, adventure and fun.”

How much time commitment will this trip be?

Leaders will be expected to give up a number of evenings to meet together to plan this trip and to complete the report after the trip. They will also be expected to plan and deliver training weekends before the Jamboree and also support young people in fundraising in this trip. This trip will require commitment from the leadership team, but it’ll certainly be worth it!

Who can apply for this leadership positions?

Any member of West Lancashire Scouts who is 18 or above by the 31st May 2021 is eligible to apply as a leader for this trip.
