In summer 2027, West Lancs Scouts will be heading to the spectacular Picos de Europa in northwest Spain for two weeks of mountains, adventure and unforgettable experiences.
Flying from Manchester to Bilbao, we’ll travel into the heart of the Picos de Europa and establish our base at Camping San Pelayo, surrounded by some of Spain’s most dramatic mountain scenery.
🏔️ What’s on offer?
This isn’t just a holiday. It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself, develop new skills and experience the mountains in a completely different environment.
Depending on individual interests, conditions and permits, activities are expected to include:
- 🥾 Mountain walking through spectacular mountain scenery
- 🧗 Rock climbing
- ⛰️ Via ferrata
- 🎒 Multi-day mountain expeditions
- 🛖 Overnight stays in mountain huts
- 🚵 Mountain biking (subject to permits and availability)
- 🛶 Kayaking (subject to permits and availability)
Whether you want to tackle challenging mountain days, experience sleeping high in the mountains, climb on Spanish rock or simply take your adventures beyond the UK, there should be something for everyone.

Participants must be at least 14 years old on 1 January 2027.
💷 Cost
The total cost will be up to £1,750 per person.
This will be split into:
- £1,250 payable before departure
- Up to £500 for in-country costs, depending on the activities chosen and food costs incurred during the trip
