Financial Support
For advice on financial support available to adults and young people, please contact Chris Lomas, Deputy Lead Volunteer, confidentially at chris.lomas@westlancsscouts.org.uk. Support is available from West Lancs Scouts and other places to support the cost of trips if finances are a barrier to you.
If you have already been appointed as a leader you can apply to the adult leader hardship fund here.
If you have already been selected as a young person on a trip you can apply to the young person hardship fund here.

Ski Alpine 2027
In 2027, we are looking to repeat the successes of previous Ski Alpine events by taking a group of Scouts & Explorers from West Lancashire to a European ski resort for a week full of fun and adventure both on and off the slopes.
The trip will most likely take part in the Easter holidays at the start of April 2027.

Older Scouts and Explorers multi-activity trip 2027
In 2027, we are looking to take a group of Explorer Scouts from West Lancashire on a trip of a lifetime! We would like the Explorers to take part in a 9 day fun filled trip overseas where participants get to experience climbing, canoeing, caving and mountain biking. It really will be an action packed, fun filled trip that is open to all Explorers and Older Scouts (13+) in West Lancs.

Go Scouts Long Weekend Cultural/Heritage Trip 2027
In 2027, we are looking to take a group of Scouts and Young Leaders from West Lancashire on a trip of a lifetime! This trip will be a shorter trip, perhaps over a long-weekend, to potentially give young people their first overseas experience, or perhaps wth a more cultural/heritage focus.
We are currently looking to recruit the lead volunteer for this trip and a number of assistants.

Cubs 2027
In 2027, we are looking to take a group of Cub Scouts from West Lancashire on a trip of a lifetime! We would like the Cubs to have an international adventure to introduce them to the world of international scouting. The length and timing of the trip would be decided by the leadership team.
We are currently looking to recruit the lead volunteer for this trip and a number of assistants.

Explorer Belt 2027
In 2027, we are looking to take a group of older Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members to support them completing their Explorer Belt Award.

Big(ish) Mountain Trip 2027
In 2027, we are looking to take a group of Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members on a mountain trek/mountaineering trip. This could be mountaineering or could be a trek to a high peak, somewhere like Nepal, Morocco or Europe.

Paddlesports Overseas 2027
In 2027, we are looking to take a group of Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members on a paddlesports trip in Europe. This is something we haven't managed to do for a long time and we're very keen to support this trip to make it happen.
We are currently looking to recruit the lead volunteer for this trip and a number of assistants.

Community Project 2027
West Lancs Scouts is looking to undertake a community project in 2027 for older Explorers and Network Members. This will include the chance for young people to complete the Scouts of the World Award. Previously we have undertaken projects in Mexico, Malawi and Uganda.
We are currently looking to recruit the lead volunteer and a number of assistants for this lifechanging trip.

Yachting 2027
West Lancs Scouts is looking to undertake the 4th consecutive Yachting trip to Europe in 2027. For Explorer Scouts and Scout Network, this trip will most likely involve 6-8 yachts, each with 6 young people and 2-3 adults, exploring the European coastline.
We are currently looking to recruit the lead volunteer for this trip and a number of skippers and assistants.

Go Somewhere (Scouts) 2027
In 2027, we are looking to take a group of 35 amazing Scouts and 5 Dynamic Young Leaders from West Lancashire on a weeklong trip of a lifetime in October half term 2027.

Red Rose 2028
West Lancs Scouts is once again heading to Westmorland Showground in 2028 for our very own international camp, Red Rose 2028!
We are now seeking 2 individuals to lead this event on behalf of the county: Camp Chair and Camp Chief.
