Imagine standing high in the Cairngorms, surrounded by snow-covered mountains, learning skills that most people will never have the opportunity to experience.

Snow & Ice is one of West Lancashire Scouts’ great adventures – an opportunity to experience the Scottish mountains in winter, learn specialist skills and discover just what you are capable of.

For generations of West Lancashire Scouts, Snow & Ice has given people the opportunity to experience real winter mountaineering in the spectacular Cairngorms. You’ll learn new skills, face new challenges and spend several unforgettable days in the mountains alongside an experienced team of volunteers.

Depending on the conditions, you could find yourself learning how to move safely across snow and ice, using an ice axe, developing winter navigation and mountain skills, and putting everything you’ve learned into practice on some incredible mountain days.

And you don’t need to be an experienced winter mountaineer.

Snow & Ice is about learning, developing and challenging yourself. Our experienced team will support you as you build your confidence, develop new skills and experience the mountains in a way you may never have done before.

At just £360, Snow & Ice represents fantastic value for a winter adventure in Scotland.

Your event fee includes:

🛏️ 5 nights’ accommodation

🚌 Transport to and from Scotland

But Snow & Ice is about much more than mountains.

It’s about friendship, teamwork, resilience and challenge. It’s about pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone, supporting those around you and experiencing those moments when you look across an extraordinary winter landscape and think:
