After four years of dedicated service to Fylde, Cath Lee has informed me that it is her intention to stand down from the role of District Commissioner at the District AGM in September.
Cath has led Fylde District (and Chorley prior to that) with distinction. Cath has steered the District with skill, dedication and passion through a challenging time. When Cath agreed to be District Commissioner in 2019, no-one imagined that she would need to steer the District through a pandemic – a role she did with outstanding leadership and effort. The District has recovered incredibly well and is now in a strong position to move through a period of transformation. Whilst there will be other opportunities to thank Cath, as I write, I want to express my sincere gratitude on behalf of us all. Thank you, Cath!
As one chapter comes to an end, another one begins. With that, I have asked Mike Smith, District Chair, to form a small search group to advise me on my appointment of Fylde’s next Lead Volunteer (currently called a District Commissioner).
As you will know, we are about to go through an exciting period of transformation and will be re-organising some of our teams and roles as a result – to enable a more teams based approach and to reduce the workload for individual volunteers. As such, I am seeking to appoint a new District Leadership Team. This team will comprise of the following:
- District Lead Volunteer
- Programme Team Leader
- Volunteer Development Team Leader
- Support Team Leader
