DESCRIPTION:Imagine standing high in the Cairngorms\, surrounded by snow-covered mountains\, learning skills that most people will never have the opportunity to experience. \nSnow & Ice is one of West Lancashire Scouts’ great adventures – an opportunity to experience the Scottish mountains in winter\, learn specialist skills and discover just what you are capable of. \nFor generations of West Lancashire Scouts\, Snow & Ice has given people the opportunity to experience real winter mountaineering in the spectacular Cairngorms. You’ll learn new skills\, face new challenges and spend several unforgettable days in the mountains alongside an experienced team of volunteers. \nDepending on the conditions\, you could find yourself learning how to move safely across snow and ice\, using an ice axe\, developing winter navigation and mountain skills\, and putting everything you’ve learned into practice on some incredible mountain days. \nAnd you don’t need to be an experienced winter mountaineer. \nSnow & Ice is about learning\, developing and challenging yourself. Our experienced team will support you as you build your confidence\, develop new skills and experience the mountains in a way you may never have done before. \nAn incredible adventure – and incredible value \nAt just £360\, Snow & Ice represents fantastic value for a winter adventure in Scotland. \nYour event fee includes: \n\n🛏️ 5 nights’ accommodation\n🚌 Transport to and from Scotland\n🍽️ Full catering throughout the event\n🧗 Specialist winter mountaineering equipment\n❄️ A full programme of winter activities (weather and conditions dependent)\n🏔️ Experienced leaders supporting you throughout your adventure\n\n\nWith accommodation\, travel\, food\, specialist equipment and an adventurous winter programme all included\, £360 provides an extraordinary opportunity to experience winter mountaineering without the significant individual cost normally associated with an adventure of this kind. \nWho can take part? \nSnow & Ice 2027 is open to: \nExplorer Scouts\nScout Network members\nAdult Leaders \nWhether this is your first taste of the winter mountains or the next step in your outdoor adventure\, Snow & Ice is an experience not to be missed. \nBut Snow & Ice is about much more than mountains. \nIt’s about friendship\, teamwork\, resilience and challenge.
